Fast Food

When it comes to fast food, it’s hit or miss. So, a lot of places like McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, TacoBell sometimes have menus that have Soy-Free food on them…don’t believe it. Ask for an ingredient list because 9 times out of 10, there is some hidden Soy ingredient that’s in there!

There is also some rule out there, DO NOT QUOTE ME, that the FDA doesn’t require businesses to list food as containing Soy, if it’s under a certain amount. Well, if you have an actual Soy Allergy and not just an intolerance, that can be dangerous. I have found out the hard way with stuff like this. Lucky for me, I have a Soy-O-Meter, it’s called my throat. Within a minute, I can tell you if something contains Soy.

I just don’t trust people when it comes to food ingredients…read the labels with your own eyes.

Don’t believe places when they say their milk-shakes are Soy-Free… they probably aren’t because they usually have Guar Gum in them.

Chick-fil-A

The good thing for Soy Allergy people, they fry in peanut oil. That means I can have their French Fries! (one of my favorite foods) Their breaded and grilled nuggets are also safe, there is no Soy additives in their breading!

Anything with a bun is no bueno! Their buns contain soybean oil. They have an Allergen Menu that is very simple to read and it’s pretty accurate!

In-N-Out

Order it Protein Style!

In-N-Out doesn’t have a lot of stuff, so it’s easy to read through their Allergen Menu.

Their buns have Soybean Oil in them, so order your burgers Protein Style, no spread!

Their french fries are real potatoes fried in peanut oil! YESSS!! MORE FRENCH FRIESSSS

Starbucks

I’ve stopped going to Starbucks as much for a few reasons but mostly because I can’t have any of their fun drinks. All of their syrups and their non-cow milks contain Soy. Oh yea, I can’t have Dairy, that’s a new discovery within the last year.

I had a cappuccino made with coconut milk and then afterwards asked to read the Coconut Milk label…guess what?!?!?! It contains Soy as Xantham Gum, Guar Gum and Natural Flavors. That’s a lot of freakin Soy bro.

Their Almond Milk is no better.

Starbucks does have some treats that are Soy Free, such as their Shortbread Cookies and their Marshmallow Bar. But if you’re looking to get something in that pretty display case, nah, just walk away.
